CULTURAL ACTIONS AWARD AND BEST PRACTICES

The UITP Design & Culture Platform organised a 'Cultural Actions' competition in view of the 58th World Congress held in Vienna on 7-11 June 2009. This project sought to promote actions aimed at the enrichment of a positive experience for public transport customers. Cultural actions of all kinds were welcome, i.e. in the field of art, cultural entertainment, design, architecture, interactive audiovisual equipment, etc.

Members of the Design & Culture Platform selected the best actions based on various criteria such as originality, effect on passengers, visibility, and contribution to the cultural identity of the network or city.

The winning company of this Cultural Actions Award is London Underground for their brilliant project ‘Art on the Underground’.

All the submitted projects are made available on these pages to form a database of good practices.
