    Welcome to Madrid

Light Rail networks significantly contribute to the sustainable development of metropolitan areas: they frame the orientation for growth along their service catchment areas and create clear functionally important nodes of the city easy to perceive.

As a rolling sidewalk it is simultaneously a motor and patron for generating business and supporting local shops and services. User-friendly, modern Light Rail systems are an integral part of modern city landscapes and daily life. LRT provides sustainable mobility, fosters urban attractiveness and respects the growing multitude of mobility patterns and is seen in many places as a key part of trendy life styles.

Light Rail has become an icon for a modern cityscape!

Thanks to the international acknowledged success of Spanish LRT projects, for this 10th edition of the internationally renowned Light Rail Conference, UITP and Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid invite you to Madrid, where specialists and newcomers, engineers and decision-makers will discuss the latest developments, unveil original experiences and present best practices aimed at providing high quality light rail services that help transform the environment of the metropolitan areas.

After 35 years, LRT started operations again in Madrid Region in 2007. This new transport mode has proved its capacity to attract people of diverse characteristics. Accessibility, userfriendliness, comfort and modern design are some of its most valued features by the users.

    See you in Madrid!
