    Context and Objectives

UITP launched its Sustainable Development Charter in 2003 and it now has 155 signatories. The charter is a dynamic process and reporting is one of most common ways of monitoring and measuring performance.
Within this context it is intended that FULL signatories of the UITP Sustainable Development Charter will be required to commit to report on their performance following a set of mandatory and voluntary indicators to be launched in April 2011. This framework will also help give direction and focus to PLEDGE signatories to put processes in place in order to prepare to become full signatories. It will also give UITP the opportunity to gather solid information to show its good performance to those outside of the public transport sector.

The UITP Sustainable Development Commission has developed the framework and set of indicators and it will now be tested on a voluntary basis by UITP signatories. Feed back and modifications over the period 2010-11 will be integrated and from 2011 all signatories of the UITP-Charter will be obliged to report with respect to this framework.

This interactive workshop will introduce the tools of the framework and explain how to use it. It will also bring cutting edge examples from signatories and from other sources to motivate and inspire you to better use reporting as a tool.
