This course is organised in 3 modules. Registration is for 3 modules
During this course the participants will develop a better understanding of global mobility issues and acquire an international perspective on public transport issues. Trainees will discuss several “hot” topics presented to them, and exchange their views and experiences with peers. A technical visit to cover the most interesting and modern aspects of PT systems is organised in each host city.
Audience: High potentials likely to fulfill managerial positions in the future. Applicants are either new to the PT sector with expertise in a specific area or have worked in PT for some time but are eager to gain a better insight into the entire sector. Must be fluent in English as networking, presentations and debate are key aspects of this course.

TRAINING PROGRAMME
Contracting for better public transport

This UITP training programme aims to provide participants with a broad knowledge on up-to-date practices in public transport contracting, and the relationship between authority and operator. Trainees will familiarise themselves with regulation 1370/2007 as well as the 4 main models of organisation: Direct awarding, deregulation, route tendering and network tendering. Lessons learnt from concrete examples of these models as well as success factors and limitations will be discussed during interactive workshops.
Audience: Managers involved or to be involved in tendering and contracting procedures, and demonstrating fluency in English.
