- Conference & Exhibition
IT continues to change our lives and in many sectors the way we conduct business. Public transport and urban mobility are no exception. The challenge ahead of us is to continue our efforts to ensure that we are making the most out of IT to achieve our main objective of increasing the market share of public transport worldwide.
For this purpose IT-TRANS will provide participants representing all segments of the sector to learn, exchange and think together on what and how urban and public transport can move forward in implementing successfully IT solutions and foster innovation.
IT can support business, whether for improving operational performances, maintenance, design and tailor services, or to contribute to the broader economic development by stimulating third parties for instance through the open provision of data. We are facing the challenge of exploiting an increasing amount of data we are producing and collecting, and understanding how this can for instance both improve customer experience and strengthen our business through advanced marketing.
We can today deliver to our customers increasingly individualised services connected to public transport, starting with information and ticketing, offering them a true digital experience supporting and enhancing the value of their journey. This requires though that we continue our efforts to overcome barriers for integrated solutions, supporting further open systems, standards and interoperability. It also requires that we address potential threats to this vision with a proper understanding of cybersecurity. This will lead our sector to be truly the backbone of the smart city we expect for the future.
