14:00 Departure for Learning Visit to Sunway BRT Line

***Training includes technical visit to Sunway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line***

As part of the training programme UITP has included a technical visit to Malaysia’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system called Sunway BRT linewhich will take place at the end of the training. Sunway BRT line has the length of 5.4km and designed as fully elevated dedicated bus lane which was undertaken as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project.

Main objective of this technical visit is to have a hands-on approach and learn the Sunway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line’s design, operation and see maintenance aspect on site.  Participants will have this unique opportunity to experience the BRT system operation, learn extensively about management and polices for implementation. Sunway BRT line is environmental friendly and home to 15 fully electric bus in their fleet.

The BRT buses have an exclusive right-of-way on an elevated guideway that is not shared with normal road traffic. This specially-dedicated and grade separated guideway for BRT Sunway Line buses is almost similar to rapid transit elevated railways.
