On the occasion of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, UITP recalled that strong and sustainable economic growth was impossible without investing in transport infrastructure, public transport as a sector being a major driver of the economy.
UITP has signed two agreements, one with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai and one with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore to develop two Transport Centres of Excellence. One Centre will be established in Dubai, more precisely hosted in RTA premises while the other Centre will be housed in the LTA Academy in Singapore. These Centres will help promote excellence in the field of public transport by proposing specialist training and conducting research.
