What makes #UITP2015 different?

There are a number of things that make the UITP World Congress & Exhibition special:

First of all, UITP has established a strong link between the congress and the exhibition, and this link is a big selling point for exhibitors as well as congress delegates. A lot of decision-makers and CEOs attend congresses because they are interested in the topics of the programme, and here they can visit the exhibition at the same time. Secondly, all modes of transport of urban and suburban areas are represented here. There are a lot of trade events that are rail-focused or bus-focused. Here all modes of transport in cities and urban regions are given equal priority, as well as IT services, marketing, and everything else that is required for the smooth and successful operation of public transport.

At this year’s UITP World Congress & Exhibition, there will be a number of tweaks to UITP’s already popular formula, including more focus on dedicated sessions for exhibitors. The newly reshaped ‘Expo Focus Sessions’ - formerly the Expo Forum - aims to give even more visibility to suppliers’ solutions and innovations as well as providing a platform for discussion and debate among industry experts. At the congress, many topics are covered mainly from a purely theoretical point of view. Here, we get to experience their application in action.

This year UITP will also be launching the new ‘Trendsetters’ report, which will be featured in the next issue of the WCE journal. The UITP World Congress & Exhibition is a key industry event and a perfect launch platform. My colleagues and I at the Exhibitions Commission thought it would be great to document these innovations in a dedicated report.

With economic constraints, everyone has to decide which events they can participate in. Public transport trade events need to have a clearly defined profile and obvious advantages that make them essential. This is one of those events.
