The European Mobility Week 2014 under this year’s theme ‘Our streets, our choice’ is an excellent opportunity to promote sustainable mobility to citizens, enact a new measure related to better public transport, and to progress towards a more sustainable, efficient and pleasant mobility culture. Urban quality of life and re-allocating space from cars to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users are the two most important aspects of this year’s theme. More information on the benefits of making better mobility choices and ways to successfully carry out activities and permanent measures related to this year's theme will be included in the forthcoming Thematic Guidelines. In 2013, 1900+ cities registered and since the start of the campaign in 2002 more than 8600 permanent measures have been enacted to make mobility in cities across Europe more sustainable.
