    The Asia-Pacific Division - the first regional division of UITP, was established in 1993. It aims to promote public transport throughout the Asia-Pacific region, to provide opportunities for UITP members in the Asia-Pacific region to share experience and information, and to study issues related to their specific needs. The Division also aims to reinforce the voice and involvement of the Asia-Pacific region in the development of public transport on a world-wide level for the benefit of the international membership of UITP.

    What are the principal goals?

    The Division’s principal concerns remain to study issues and consider reports related to the needs of members and report the results of these studies for the benefit of all members. On this base of exchange and discussion the Asia-Pacific Division continually promotes public transport in the region and enhances the global relevance of UITP.

    UITP opened an office in Bangalore, India, in March 2007. The Bangalore office is the first liaison office in the Asia-Pacific Division. Read more
