MENA Assembly |
The MENA Assembly is an open meeting for all
UITP members in the MENA region. By law, the MENA Assembly is expected
to meet at least once every two years to be informed and consulted on activities
and memberships and to elect representatives in the Executive Committee.
It could be held at the occasion of a regional event (seminar, Congress) |
MENA Congress & Showcase |
It is the major MENA event, with a showcase,
gathering all MENA members and attracting non-MENA public transport professionals
every two years. |
Regional Seminar |
Seminars are medium-size events (100 to 150
participants). They cover general public transport issues related to the
host country. |
Working groups |
Group of members meeting periodically (in average
2/year) to discuss specific issues and share their knowledge and experience.
Presently two working groups:
- Bus Group
- Public Transport Organisation Group

Report on public transport in the MENA
region |
A publication compiling country reports on
public transport in the MENA region with the following objectives:
- To improve knowledge on public transport and its actors in the region
- To show the business potential in the region
- To identify potential UITP members
- To establish and maintain a database of contacts.

Training on public transport fundamentals |
Training programme covering general and basic
issues of public transport (organisation, operation, financing, marketing,
etc) and intended to junior managers or new comers in the sector. |
Tailor-made training programmes |
On-demand targeted training programmes that
could be organised at company level or at national level. |
Study tours |
On-request, the MENA Office is available to
organise study tours for MENA participants outside the MENA region or for
all inside the MENA region to give them the possibility to see real implementation
of successful public transport systems. |
Trade tours in the MENA region |
Trade tours are an opportunity for potential
suppliers and investors to visit a MENA country to better know about its
projects and business opportunities. Trade tours could be potentially organised
in countries where the market is important and where the business environment
is ready for foreign investment and suppliers. |
International cooperation |
Keeping permanent and close relationships with
international and regional organisations. Such cooperation could include:
- Dissemination of information
- Speaking at events
- Establishment of MoU and joint activities
