UITP has been a leading partner in a wide range of EU-funded research projects for many years, with the European Commission recognising UITP as a key interlocutor in promoting public transport stakeholders’ priorities for research and innovation.
To succeed in advancing public transport, great emphasis must be placed on international research cooperation. With the growing demand to expand the UITP research and innovation activities also outside the EU borders, in March 2016 UITP has decided to transform the EU Projects Department into Research and Innovation. The experienced team is ambitious to share its long-standing experience and engage also non-EU regions for the benefit of all UITP Members.
