Electric Bus Operations & Maintenance

Ms Bonnie Guo is the Senior Business Manager of the Marketing Department at Shenzhen Bus Group. She is in charge of branding, international training, and international business.

Before joining Shenzhen Bus, she had ever been a project manager and a quality assurance & branding manager at Huawei Technologies. She joined Shenzhen Bus Group since 2018, and started developing international businesses with the team, including international projects, training programmes, and branding. She has been the lead in the project of UITP Shenzhen Regional Training Center, organising the UITP training programmes themed Electric Bus operation, maintenance, and procurement. She also led the establishment of the corporate branding management system, and conducted co-branding activities and international events. She was one of the contributors to the World Bank report on the Shenzhen Bus Case Study, UITP report on Bus Network Planning, etc. She also represents Shenzhen Bus in the UITP Bus Division.

Based at Volvo Buses’ Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Since 2017 Stefan is supporting regions and cities to transform to electric bus traffic. This includes route analysis, charging strategy, stakeholder engagement, project planning, zone management and all aspects from an operator’s perspective in the transition to electric bus traffic including sustainability.

Prior to joining Volvo Buses, Stefan spent 23 years working at Ericsson, whereof 6 years based in Asia. Stefan has a Master of Science – Industrial Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

Marc is managing partner and strategy director at FACTUAL, an innovation consultancy focused on mobility. MsC Civil Engineer by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), he has 12 years of experience in mobility projects at local and international level, participating in 20 European projects about electromobility, MaaS, autonomous mobility and ITS. Marc is former member of the ERTICO Strategy Committee, FIA Transport & Mobility Working Group and accredited member of International Road Assessment Programme (IRAP).

Darek is a change manager and influencer in the transition to sustainable transport. With over 16 years of industry experience, Darek is a driving force in advocating for decarbonisation of the transport sector with a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He delivers insightful advice, hosts impactful training sessions and symposiums.

Darek played a leading role in the decarbonisation of Auckland’s public transport bus and ferry fleets and infrastructure specifications. He led Auckland Transport’s transition to a zero emission bus fleet known as Auckland’s ‘Low Emission Bus Roadmap’ aiming to transition the city’s public transport to zero emission buses by 2035 and low emission ferries by 2040. He chaired the New Zealand Low Emission Bus Working Group tasked with overcoming challenges and removing barriers to earlier adoption of zero emission buses in New Zealand.

Darek now works on accelerating the implementation of sustainable transport solutions in Australia and plays a key role in supporting the transition from diesel to electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses, trains, ferries, their management, operations and charging infrastructure.

Chris is the Operations Manager of International Development Department at Shenzhen Bus Group Co., Ltd., which owns the world’s first and largest pure electric bus fleet and taxi fleet. Chris has worked at SZBG in fleet management, employee training, corporate management and international development. Chris’ current objective is to share the company’s knowledge on electric public transportation, and work with other companies to explore the future of a robust, sustainable and customer focused public transportation system.

Abhijit is the founder of ‘The Urban Lab’, where he mentors and leads teams to provide practical solutions for creating liveable cities. With an experience of over twenty years, his work spans a variety of areas including urban and transport planning, urban design, and urban management integrating services like consultancy, research, training, advocacy, and capacity building. His key interest areas in the field of urban transport and urban planning are land use and transport, street design, transit-oriented development, and transport policies. He has a Ph.D. in planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, and a Master of Planning from SPA, Delhi.

Abhijit is a visiting faculty at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Before founding The Urban Lab, he worked with CEPT University as an Associate Professor at the Centre of Excellence in Urban Transport. Abhijit led the design team for Bus Rapid Transit projects in Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, and Hubli Dharwad. The scope of work included preparing detailed project reports and detailed design for the BRTS, quality control for site work, coordinating with local authorities for preparing the institutional structure, business plan, and transit policies.

Abhijit is trained by Sustainable Urban Transport Program (SUTP) and GIZ as a trainer in urban transport and sustainable mass transit options. He conducts training programs for urban transport professionals across Southeast Asia. He has also completed a trainer program in ‘Case Teaching’ by The World Bank. Abhijit is an avid reader, traveller, and a photographer.

Alok is the CEO & Managing Director of Trans-consult. He is an international expert in public transport operations and management, with specialisation in new technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and clean fuel technologies. With 30 years of experience in the industry, Alok has worked with an array of international consultants and leading transport operators such as MTR Corporation Hong Kong and Kowloon Motor Bus Hong Kong.

He is an international expert trainer and a Fellow of Civic Exchange, a Hong Kong-based non-profit independent think tank. He regularly teaches at the University of Hong Kong and serves as a Member of the Transport Policy Committee of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong. He has several publications to his credit, including contribution to a book on best practice in railways operations and management.

Dr Liu Tao is an Associate Professor of School of Transportation and Logistics, Southwest Jiaotong University. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He once worked at TUMCREATE Ltd., in Singapore, involved in developing an autonomous modular public transport system for megacities. His research focuses on the analysis, modelling and optimization of transportation systems, especially public transport and shared mobility systems. He has authored and co-authored over 50 papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and 3 book chapters. Dr Liu serves as an associate editor, editor, guest editor, or editor board member of five international journals. He actively provides consulting services on public transport planning and operations for several transit companies in China.

Josep is Partner and Director of Moov, a mobility and transport consultancy. He is a Civil Engineer by training and has developed his professional career to date in transport and sustainable mobility, at advisory, operational, and executive management levels. As a consultant and designer, Josep has undertaken transport infrastructure projects, Urban Mobility Plans, service usage assessments, urban and interurban public transport network modelling, traffic and parking demand studies.

As a service operator, Josep developed the technical office of the Transvia Group and was Managing Director of the Municipal Transport Company of València (EMT), where he led an intense process of transformation turning the organisation into a mobility management company, focused on efficiency, digitalisation and with a completely transformed network. As a result, EMT València service usage grew by 10%, becoming public transport company of the year in Spain in 2017 and awarded one of the best 50 companies to work for in Spain according to Forbes in 2018.

Mr. Jiang Peng is now the Deputy General Manager of Pengxiang Tourism Transport of Shenzhen Bus Group Co., Ltd. He has once been the manager of the Technology & New Energy Department at Shenzhen Bus Group for years, in charge of vehicle maintenance, warranty budgeting, vehicle management and technology innovations.

He joined Shenzhen Bus Group since July 2005, and has ever been the vehicle repair technician, the technical leader, the repair plant director, and the manager of the technology department at the branch companies of Shenzhen Bus Group. He has got over twenty years’ extensive experiences in vehicle technology and vehicle maintenance. He has quite deep understanding in the use of traditional fuel buses, pure electric buses, and repair and maintenance, especially in repair team building and management. He is passionate about new technologies and trends in electric vehicle operation and maintenance.

D. Rafael Orihuela Navarro: He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering by the Madrid’s Polytechnic, Mechanics – Machinery Specialisation. Rafael Orihuela has developed his entire professional career in the field of Transport Public at EMT Madrid. He has served in different positions of responsibility in the company since 1997, becoming an expert in operation and management of a public transport operator. From 2012 to 2015 Rafael was the General Manager at EMT.

Rafael, has participated in fleet renewal strategy to clean fuels, CNG and electric vehicle as well as the adaptation of the operation and depots. Nowadays, Rafael is in charge of the Sanchinarro Depot at the EMT in Madrid , and therefore responsible for the management of all the operation, planning and material and human resources of the bus service.

Fernando is Chief Commercial Officer in Bledsystem. He played a decisive role in the development of the Bledsystem eco-driving solution (bledsystem.com). He led its introduction into the market and participated in the definition and deployment of Bledsystem at great scale international bus operators. He has a Telecommunications Engineering degree from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.
