We facilitate the buildout of a regional comprehensive network of smart, barrier-free and multimodal mobility hubs with mandatory minimum configurations as well as recognizable design features by way of providing support and subsidies while constantly broadening the range of services offered.

About this Project

We aim to accelerate the transformation process from car-centric to sustainable, multimodal mobility by implementing a regional strategy comprising over 450 mobility hubs.

We support municipalities and transportation companies by providing coordination, consulting, branding, workshops, and funding.

Our wide range of services offered includes setting high mandatory standards, enabling infrastructure access, launching a digital bike parking system, providing a variety of workshops around planning, implementing, operating, maintaining and broadening recognition of offers surrounding the thematical mobility hub as well as providing a framework for communication campaigns.

As a result, more than 100 hubs are already in operation, forming a growing network for integrated mobility.

Key Highlights

Our project’s unique feature is its regional scale encompassing rural areas as well as urban centers. Our approach of supporting municipalities by providing the overall conceptual and standardization framework as well as central services on the regional level leads to a streamlined implementation process for all stakeholders.

We aim to consolidate time- and cost-consuming tasks at our level to relieve local authorities and to raise efficiency. We provide them with easy and affordable access to high-quality standardized bus shelters, bike hotels, directional signage and a digital bike parking system offering smart and secure bike parking via app while following our branding.

A customizable communication toolbox surrounding connected mobility is in its developmental stage.

Facts & Figures

  • While more than 100 mobility hubs have been built in the region, the concept has been adopted in the rest of the federal state and all over Germany, turning the project from a singular product to an established device in the transformation toolbox.
  • The hubs facilitate barrier-free transfers and thus foster seamless multi- and intermodal trip chains for many demographic groups, also in rural areas.
  • By connecting more sustainable modes of transport, they contribute to a reduction in emissions.
