Introduction
We are delighted to announce the relaunch of the UITP Light Rail Division meeting. As cities continue to invest in sustainable public transport, light rail systems play an increasingly important role in shaping urban mobility.
The meeting is being relaunched to bring together UITP members committed to advancing light rail and tram systems worldwide.
The Division meeting serves as a collaborative platform to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and address common challenges faced by light rail and tram stakeholders.
What You Will Learn
Participants in the Light Rail Division gain insights into the latest trends, innovations, and strategies shaping modern light rail and tram systems.
Through peer exchange, expert input, and real-world case studies, participants gain practical knowledge that can be applied within their organisations.

- Rolling Stock and Maintenance – Upgrade/Decomissioning
- Future of Light Rail – including R2Dato
Who is it for?
All members of the UITP Light Rail Division are invited to join the Division meeting.

The European Tramdriver Championship (TRAM-EM) will take place in Warsaw on 19 September 2026, one day before the Light Rail Division Meeting. Participants interested in light rail operations may wish to take this opportunity to attend both events.
