About this Project
The model was used to prepare strategic transportation plans which form the strategic framework for transport investments in the emirate.
For example, the «Abu Dhabi Transportation Strategy 2023» was developed, which includes infrastructure projects for roads and public transport, The strategy was adopted with a budget exceeding 36 billion dirhams for its projects over the next 10 years. The expected results from this strategy are as follows:
- Reduce travel time from the Central Business District (CBD) to the bridges to 14 minutes by 2028.
- Increase the capacity of main roads to 70,200 vehicles by 2028.
- Reduce severe and fatal traffic accidents by 42% by 2028.
- Increase public transport ridership to 327,000 by 2028.
