Digital Europe
€7.6 billion (2021 – 2027)
The Digital Europe Programme supports the deployment and uptake of advanced digital technologies by businesses, public administrations and other organisations. Its areas of support include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced digital skills, data spaces and other strategic digital capacities.
Relevant public transport opportunities may concern mobility data-sharing, interoperable digital services, digital public services and cybersecurity, where these activities are included in a funded topic.
Digital Europe complements Horizon Europe by focusing on deployment and capacity-building. Applicants should consult the current 2025-2027 work programmes and amendments to identify suitable topics, funding rates, consortium requirements and any restrictions on participation.
The common European mobility data space is an important initiative for transport organisations to monitor. However, participation in a data-space initiative does not automatically provide access to grant funding.
The wider regulatory context has also evolved: the EU Data Act has applied since 12 September 2025, subject to its specific transitional provisions.
Current calls and application conditions are published on the Funding & Tenders Portal and the European Commission’s Digital Europe webpages.
