Introduction

Fare evasion is a persistent challenge affecting public transport systems across the globe. Although its scale varies from city to city, its financial, operational and social impacts make it a key concern for transport authorities and operators alike.

Addressing fare evasion requires more than enforcement. As a complex, multi-factor issue, it calls for integrated strategies combining policy, operations, customer engagement, technology and institutional collaboration.

To foster international knowledge exchange on this topic, UITP is bringing together transport authorities, operators, industry partners and researchers to identify effective approaches, share practical experience and develop knowledge resources.

This first webinar will provide a platform for cities to exchange experiences on preventing and reducing fare evasion.

You will also get insights on a more comprehensive international project UITP is defining with several Partners.
