Summary

The proposed EU Regulation, published on 16 December 2025, establishes requirements for the procurement of new corporate cars (M1 vehicles) and vans (N1 vehicles) by large undertakings.

UITP welcomes the new regulation, as it contributes to accelerating the energy transition of the road transport sector. However, targeted amendments to the draft Regulation are needed concerning vehicles operated within the public transport sector. These adjustments are essential to ensure that public transport operators can continue delivering this vital service in a smooth and cost-efficient manner, while progressing towards decarbonisation.
