Graduated from Tongji University in China and alumnus of École des Ponts ParisTech (Degree in Engineering), Ethan started his career in Transportation with Veolia Environment Group in France. With years of experience in leadership positions supported by proven track records in Transportation industry covering business development, M&A, project delivery and general management, Ethan joined Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) in 2023 and currently acts as Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Bus Group, a Joint Venture between KMB and Shenzhen municipal government.

Alok is the CEO & Managing Director of Trans-consult. He is an international expert in public transport operations and management, with specialisation in new technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and clean fuel technologies. With 30 years of experience in the industry, Alok has worked with an array of international consultants and leading transport operators such as MTR Corporation Hong Kong and Kowloon Motor Bus Hong Kong.

He is an international expert trainer and a Fellow of Civic Exchange, a Hong Kong-based non-profit independent think tank. He regularly teaches at the University of Hong Kong and serves as a Member of the Transport Policy Committee of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong. He has several publications to his credit, including contribution to a book on best practice in railways operations and management.

Dr Hu has more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry. He was the Chairman of Board from 2007 to 2011 and General Manager from 2001 to 2006 of Shenzhen Bus Group Company Ltd, one of the largest China urban public transportation companies that own the largest bus network in the Shenzhen Special Economic Area. Prior to this, he was the Executive Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Metro Co., Ltd and Division-Chief in the Shenzhen Transportation Bureau from 1992 to 2001. Dr Hu was also the Civil Engineer, Project Manager and Deputy Division-Chief of the Department of Construction of Shenzhen Metro Co., Ltd and the Shenzhen Transportation Bureau from 1992 to 1996. Dr Hu did a research study in the Transportation Research Centre, University of Kansas, USA.

Hu Shuai, Ph.D., senior engineer, is currently the chief engineer of China Construction Steel Structure Group Intelligent Parking Technology Co., Ltd, the expert of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, the member of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lifting Machinery, the young top-notch talent under the Ten Thousand Talents Program for Engineering Construction Science and Technology Innovation, and the advanced scientific technological worker in China’s parking industry.

Deeply engaged in the research of smart parking equipment and technology. Focusing on the research of mechanical parking, charging and battery swapping robots, and the development of smart parking & charging operation platforms.

Successively completed the research of equipment such as mechanical parking system for new energy buses, vertical lifting and plane moving mechanical parking system for passenger vehicles, AGV vehicle transport robots, automatic charging robots, and heavy-duty truck battery swap robots.

Obtained 34 patents, including 15 invention patents and 1 patent each in the United States and Japan. Four technological achievements have reached the international advanced level. Won awards such as the China Patent Excellence Award, the National Excellence Award of the «Blooming Cup» 5G Application Competition, the Science & Technology Award of the Machinery Industry, and the Science & Technology Award of China State Construction Engineering Corporation.

Dr. Jian Li received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tongji University and his doctorate from Rutgers University in the United States. He has served as a Research Associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the College of Transportation Engineering at Tongji University. He is currently an Associate Professor in the College of Transportation at Tongji University, and serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Urban Transportation Planning Professional Committee of the China Urban Planning Society. He also serves as the editorial board member of Urban Transport of China, and serves as the reviewer for many academic journals.

His research interests concern urban mobility planning and operations by integrating emerging data sources with computing technologies and mathematical tools. As the principal investigator (PI), he has led national and provincial-level projects, including Sino-German international cooperation projects, National Key R&D Program projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and Shanghai Science and Technology Commission projects. He has also undertaken multiple consulting projects for cities such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xiamen, and Urumqi. He has published over 100 academic papers, one academic monograph, and participated in the compilation of two standards. His achievements have won awards such as the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China Urban Planning Society.

In recent years, he has focused on the application of generative artificial intelligence technology in urban mobility planning and management. Addressing the illusion phenomenon in the application of general-purpose large language models in industry sectors, he proposed a system architecture for an urban traffic knowledge-enhanced large language model, starting from the integration of knowledge graphs and large language models. He explored technologies such as prompt word engineering, retrieval enhancement generation, model fusion, and intelligent agent construction, and conducted practical explorations from four dimensions: data enhancement, knowledge enhancement, model enhancement, and task enhancement.

Mr. James Wang is the National Chief Scientist Communications in China Transit Science (CAST); founder of Shared Mobility Laboratory, an ambassador of UITP & a representative of Busworld Foundation, bus specifications, operations & maintenance specialist of ADB, editor-in-chief of China Bus & Coach Yearbook, an academic committee member of CUPTA of CCES & China Highway Society Bus Branch, transit scholar of Chongqing Jiaotong University.

He has published a series of books and articles on bus & transit industry in Chinese.

Mr Qiu Jinsheng, Associate Professor, Senior Evaluator, Senior Technician, Referee for national, provincial and municipal automotive competitions; Expert Advisor to the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, Intelligent Transportation, Artificial Intelligence, and Consumer Associations; Automotive Expert at Guangdong Business University, Shenzhen City Vocational College, and other institutions. He has been engaged in training, education, and management in the fields of intelligent driving, transportation, automotive maintenance and marketing for 32 years. He has delivered numerous lectures for national-level faculty, industry practitioners, and organizations such as Shenzhen Tax Bureau and Telecommunications Bureau.

Dr. Guo Yi earned his Doctorate in Transportation Planning, under the supervision of Academician Li Qingquan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Boasting 17 years of professional experience in urban public transport, he has participated in urban public transport projects across 20 countries worldwide.

He is a core practitioner dedicated to advancing the green transition of global public transport. He has delivered full-spectrum, in-depth consulting solutions for public transport green transformation to the Abu Dhabi transport authority in the UAE. He has also conducted professional training on public transport electrification transition for government bodies and transport operators in Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Kenya, South Africa and many other nations.

Furthermore, he has partnered with prestigious international institutions such as the World Bank and UITP to carry out joint research on public transport green transition, and has authored a great number of academic papers and industry research reports.

Dr. Yuhan Xiao is the Training and Research Manager at UITP Asia-Pacific, specialising in public transport policy, rail governance, and regional development. Prior to joining UITP, she worked widely in transport policy research roles in the UN and academia, contributing to sustainable mobility and regional transport projects across Asia-Pacific. At UITP, she manages regional research projects and training activities focused on autonomous mobility, rail financial sustainability, data and digitalisation, and institutional governance across the Asia-Pacific region, with a strong interest in the role of public transport in supporting long-term urban and regional transformation.
