In today’s fast-paced world, the public transport industry is evolving rapidly, and technology is playing a pivotal role whereby Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning are transforming public transport by enhancing efficiency, customer experience, and operational intelligence. This training programme will provide a comprehensive understanding of AI applications in public mobility, equipping participants with the knowledge, tools, and insights to navigate the future of intelligent transport systems.

Through expert-led discussions and case studies, participants will explore real-world AI applications that optimize service reliability, passenger experience, and resource allocation. The course will highlight data-driven decision-making, showcasing how AI leverages big data to improve transport networks. Additionally, it will address the challenges of AI implementation, including organizational change, ecosystem integration, and risk management.

This course builds on a year-long research project on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Mass Public Transport. More than 100 experts from authorities, operators, industry providers and academics contributed to the research in providing insights on the future of AI in public transport and helping define key building blocks for the sector to successfully embark in their AI journey. The extensive knowledge collated during the research together with experience from early AI adopters in public transport and beyond will be shared during the training.
