Paratransit & UITP
For many across the Global South, paratransit is the only public transport around. In Latin America and Africa, paratransit serves half of all mass transport trips, making it vital for both mobility and jobs.
Given its business-driven nature, paratransit comes in all shapes and sizes. That makes the sector adaptable and innovative, but also challenging to define. Yet where it exists, no mobility strategy can ignore the needs of paratransit operators, passengers, and employees.
To better collaborate with the paratransit sector, UITP brings together diverse public transport stakeholders. Because if we want to make global mobility more accessible, reliable, and sustainable, we need paratransit.
