A Mandate Renewed: Renée Amilcar Continues as UITP President for 2025–2027 Term
Following a Vote at the General Assembly as the UITP Summit Launches
UITP is pleased to announce that Renée Amilcar has been re-elected as our association’s President, with her mandate now renewed for the upcoming 2025-2027 term.
The decision was confirmed on Sunday 15 June during the UITP General Assembly, held at the 2025 UITP Summit in Hamburg.
And with a 100% backing from the voting members in the room, Renée Amilcar is the first President to receive this monumental achievement!
General Manager of OC Transpo in Ottawa, Canada, she originally began her presidency of the association in 2023.
Over the past two years, the President has been a visible presence on the global stage, championing innovation, sustainability, and inclusion in public transport, working alongside our Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani to steer the association through a period of renewed global momentum for urban mobility.
With more than 35 international speeches delivered during her first term, and an intervention on the floor of the United Nations as a first for UITP, the President has elevated our vision and mission, on behalf of our members and the entire sector.
Her re-election reflects the trust and confidence of UITP members in her leadership and vision.
Playing a leadership role in the launch of our brand-new four-year Strategic Plan, Renée Amilcar has placed a strong focus on UITP’s long-term sustainability as an association, with people as the main thread of our direction.
Renée Amilcar
UITP President
Leadership for 2025 and Beyond
The UITP President plays a key role in representing the association internationally and guiding its strategic direction in close coordination with the UITP Executive Board and Secretariat.
As UITP looks ahead to the coming term, Renée Amilcar’s continued leadership promises stability, continuity, and a bold vision for the road ahead.
UITP is also pleased to announce that Gautier Brodeo of RATP Group, France, has been elected as Deputy President of UITP for the 2025-2027 term.
The new Deputy President will be a familiar face to our membership, with more than a decade’s worth of interaction at UITP through his previous roles as Chair of the Regional and Suburban Rail Committee, and as a UITP Vice President.
With extensive expertise in European mobility policy and experience within the global public transport landscape, Gautier will play a key role in supporting the association’s strategic priorities alongside the President and Executive Board.
With the new Deputy President coming on board, we thank our departing Deputy President Brieuc De Meeus for his contribution to UITP and his dedication to public transport!
The UITP Summit marks a key moment for the association and its members, and the extension of Renée Amilcar’s Presidency, and welcoming Gautier Brodeo as Deputy President signals a shared commitment to progress in the years to come.
Congratulations Renée and Gautier!
