The momentum is building in the run-up to the first annual World Public Transport Day! Over 100 organisations from six continents have already expressed an interest in taking part in this truly global campaign celebrating all things public transport.

Several milestones have happened in the campaign within the past few weeks. On 10 December World Public Transport Day was officially announced at the UN during the launch of the Decade of Sustainable Transport.

Then on 15 December the campaign website and full toolkit went live. Here you can find all the visual assets, official logos, manifesto film and more to celebrate World Public Transport Day how you want! On 17 December, a webinar for UITP members went through the contents of the toolkit and how to access them.

How to get involved?

How to celebrate World Public Transport Day is up to you! From social media posts to advertising campaigns or going all out with an event, the choice is yours.

Looking for some inspiration? The campaign toolkit document includes an activation guide which gives ideas on different ways to celebrate, no matter how big or small you want to go in your activity.

All the available templates and branding are available on the campaign website and free to use for 17 April.

Already know what you plan to do? Please let us know! We are asking members and partners to let us know their plans for World Public Transport Day by 17 February using the contact form on the campaign website.

It’s one day, millions of journeys. A truly global campaign to celebrate the role that public transport has in our cities and our lives. Join us on 17 April!
