The UITP Summit brings the public transport sector together to exchange ideas, learn from peers and debate the issues shaping mobility.

Taking place in Dubai for the first time in 15 years, and marking the 140th anniversary of the Summit in its various formats, the 2026 edition brings together international perspectives at a moment of significant change for urban mobility.

The newly released programme offers a detailed look at the themes, debates and case studies that will shape discussions in April.

Six tracks, one global conversation

The Congress Programme is structured around six core tracks reflecting the sector’s priorities:

  • Innovation in Bus Systems
  • The Future of Rail
  • Shared Mobility
  • The Human Factor
  • Funding and Financing
  • Smart Technologies and Data

These tracks frame more than 40 sessions delivered by speakers from over 35 countries, including operators, authorities, policymakers, and sector partners, among others.

Across the three days, the programme offers policy discussions, case studies and operational perspectives from networks around the world.

Sessions will explore how cities are approaching AI in mobility systems, strengthening passenger safety and cybersecurity, advancing automation, modernising ticketing, and integrating public transport within wider urban planning frameworks.

Alongside policy discussion, the programme covers practical delivery, from funding models and fleet electrification to battery lifecycle management and data-driven network management.

The programme also reflects the Human Factor track, with sessions addressing NextGen talent, passenger protection, designing for diversity, wayfinding and the role of management in embedding safety.

A platform for international exchange

More than 300 speakers will contribute to the Congress Programme, offering regional and global perspectives across all modes.

The sessions are complemented by the Summit’s Exhibition, technical visits and high-level networking events, creating a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange and sector collaboration.

Hosted jointly by UITP and RTA Dubai, the Summit reflects growing investment and ambition in public transport across the MENA region, while maintaining its longstanding role as the sector’s global meeting point.
