Extending our Programme…

To a new group of Scholars

In 2021, UITP launched a brand-new Scholarship Programme to offer the next generation of sector leaders the chance to expand their knowledge under the guidance of industry experts.

Lauching the programme, we encouraged applicants to use this new opportunity to develop their careers with a series of courses taken through the year…

And after the success of both the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 intake, we are delighted to announce the renewal of our Academy Scholarship for the 2023-2024 calendar year.

Our first set of Scholars graduated virtually in 2022, and the UITP Academy placed a strong focus on working closely with Joemier, Mariana, Danait, Iqbal and Utkarsh, getting to know them with our special interview series.

With numerous applicants from all corners of the globe for our second intake, our jury selected four applicants from Nepal, Uganda, the Philippines and Albania, with Matilda, Amul, Joyce and Joseph, studying across this year and last year with their graduations fast approaching!

Now, you have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps and advance your public transport career under the guidance of our expert trainers…

The UITP Scholarship Programme will enter into a new term for 2023-2024 with applications now open.

Are you working in the public transport sector? Do you want the opportunity to move forward in your career? Then our Scholarship is open to you.

It is testament to the great commitment of young professionals in the public transport community that our Scholarship Programme has grown in interest year after year. Their enthusiasm has led us to the very easy decision to renew our Scholarship for the new calendar year, and to provide the incoming applicants with an impressive agenda of trainings, taught by industry experts. I look forward to meeting them and watching their careers develop.

Here’s what you need to know

The scholarship is once again being offered to five people who will study for two compulsory core courses and two elective courses during the 2023-2024 programme.

We’ll offer virtual classroom training sessions, with physical sessions remaining an option down the line.

It’s open to people under 40 years of age who are employees within the public transport sector – working for a UITP member company, or from a non-member.

In order to best assist the next generation of public transport colleagues, applicants must be from developing countries where the GDP per capita is under USD 20k (as per World Bank consideration).

The courses will take place with a wide variety of experts at the helm and more choices will come in the next stages of selection. UITP reserves the right to alter the available selections.

We hope to receive a wide variety of inspiring and passionate applicants!

The deadline to apply is Monday 31 July 2023.
