UITP is the worldwide platform for the global public transport sector. And uitp.org is our platform to connect with that community.

Whether it’s to read expert knowledge, get the latest data, sign up for an event, or join a training, uitp.org is the home of all things public transport. And now, we make a big step towards a new and improved user experience.

We are proud to announce our new website, in the same year that we celebrate 140 years of advancing public transport.

Welcome to a new digital era for UITP!

"The new UITP website is a major step forward in our digital journey, giving members and the wider community easier access to knowledge, services and activities, and strengthening how everyone connects with UITP. I hope you enjoy exploring it and making it part of your UITP experience."
Mohamed Mezghani
UITP Secretary General

Why uitp.org is Changing

Improving our website is a key initiative in our People-First Strategic Plan 2025-2028, which also encompasses our revised mission, vision, and values. And we have placed our values at the core of its design.

Because, in the same way that we believe mobility should have accessibility and sustainability at its core, so too should uitp.org.

Accessible User Experience

A new structure with easier access to knowledge, activities, and services. Easy-to-read, accessible design. And smarter search and filtering functions to get to your destination faster.

Without accessibility, inclusive collaboration becomes impossible. Making our website easy to understand and an enjoyable experience is key to achieving the shared success that is UITP’s mission.

Global Mindset

UITP brings together some 1,900 members across 100 countries. And just like we have physical offices around the globe, our digital world should reflect the size and diversity of our global community. The new structure and search functions on uitp.org will make it easier to find content and activities in your region.

Sustainable Design

As champions of sustainable urban mobility, we are conscious of the digital impact on the planet. That’s why we teamed up with Wholegrain Digital, a London-based web agency who are world leaders in web sustainability and performance, helping to shift the internet towards a low-carbon future.

As Wholegrain Digital notes, the internet uses a lot of electricity – roughly equal to or greater than the global aviation industry.

By building a smarter, lighter, more efficient website, UITP is minimising our ecological impact in all of our activities.

“Wholegrain proudly partnered with UITP to create a new website that delivers industry leading best practices in accessibility and digital sustainability. Built on a low-carbon code base, the new site is graded A on Website Carbon calculator, proving that a high-performing site is also a sustainable site.”
Chris Lewis, Managing Director, Wholegrain Digital

What’s New?

Engaging and user-friendly – that’s what the new UITP website is all about. Here’s what that means for uitp.org:

  • Improved accessibility, making our news, views, and knowledge easier to digest
  • New ways to display data – more interactive, more user-friendly, and easier to share
  • Revamped search and filtering, so you can find the latest and most relevant publications, events, and training
  • …and more to come!

Of course, building a successful website is a journey – and that means your user experience will always be evolving and improving.

Guided by our 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, the future of uitp.org has plenty in store, from increased personalisation to a user-friendly platform where members can enjoy greater access to share and engage with UITP’s network and knowledge.

This is how we ensure that uitp.org responds to our sector’s needs both now and tomorrow.
