Supporting the real-world implementation of automated mobility

Started in June 2025, the CCAMbassador project is a 36-month Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action project which is coordinated by ERTICO and built on the FAME project, with the goal of accelerating the implementation of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) throughout Europe.

By involving not just research communities but also government authorities, operators, industry, and citizens, this project strengthens the CCAM Partnership. In identifying critical deployment building elements, fostering collaboration across EU Member States, and encouraging the application of the European Common Evaluation Methodology (EU-CEM), the project’s primary objective is to assist stakeholders in transitioning from research to practical operations.

Analyzing the CCAM ecosystem, interacting with stakeholders, and determining awareness and preparedness levels are the main goals of CCAMbassador. The project creates awareness-raising campaigns and capacity-building tools for both implementers and the general public. The improvement of the European CCAM Knowledge Base into an approachable “one-stop shop” with relevant content for various stakeholder groups is a key element of the project.

Through training and assistance, it also encourages global cooperation, the organisation of reference events like EUCAD, regulatory harmonization, and broader use of EU-CEM. In general, CCAMbassador facilitates the efficient and coordinated implementation of automated mobility throughout Europe by bridging the gap between research and deployment.
