Advancing Adoption of Open-Loop Payment Systems in Public Transport
Launched in 2021, the Urban Mobility Open Payments Forum drives the global adoption of open-loop payment systems, helping cities create efficient, inclusive and sustainable door-to-door journeys, enabled by simple, convenient and secure contactless payments.
Led by UITP, with lead partner Visa, and joined by other stakeholders including American Express, Discover Network, Mastercard, Scheidt & Bachmann, Hitachi Rail, Cubic, Google Wallet, Worldline, Consult Hyperion and the Rail Delivery Group, the Forum brings together payment schemes, technology providers, public transport operators and authorities on a single collaborative platform.
The Forum fosters the exchange of ideas and practical solutions, publishing insightful reports and sharing best practice to make implementing open-loop systems easier and more cost-effective for transport organisations worldwide.
