About this Project
The project reconfigured the Third Bridge to enhance public transport appeal and urban mobility. The expansion was achieved by widening the deck, adding new lanes, an exclusive bus lane, and the Ciclovia da Vida.
This innovative bike lane is suspended outside and below the bridge, creating a protective “pocket” that ensures safety while promoting sustainable mobility.
So, It acts as a suicide prevention barrier, making the bridge a symbol of security and inclusion.
The design prioritises efficiency, safety, and user experience, reducing travel time—especially for public transport users—while improving connectivity between Vitória and Vila Velha, fostering healthier commuting habits.
