Introduction

From Planning to Match Day is a high-level, post-draw workshop bringing together host cities, transport authorities, operators, and global experts to address mobility planning for major sporting events, with a strong focus on FIFA World Cup 2026 readiness in Mexico.

Participants gain practical, peer-driven insights, international best practices, and direct exchange with cities and experts who have delivered large-scale events, helping translate global experience into actionable, local solutions.

As Mexico prepares to host matches across multiple cities, coordinated mobility planning is critical. This workshop supports alignment, governance, and operational readiness, strengthening the sector’s capacity to deliver safe, seamless, and world-class transport experiences.

What Will You Learn?

Participants will learn how to plan and operate transport systems for major events through a hands-on, tactical lens.

As the first workshop of its kind in Mexico, it brings together all three Mexican host cities to work jointly on safety, crowd management, Park and Ride, wayfinding, and match-day operations, focusing on practical solutions and peer exchange rather than high-level strategy.

Who Should Attend?

The event is designed for senior and mid-level professionals involved in planning and operating mobility for major events, including transport and mobility authorities, public transport operators, traffic and road agencies, civil protection and security teams, and stadium access managers.

It is especially relevant for decision-makers and technical leads from host cities working on match-day operations and inter-agency coordination.
