A change in leadership...

For a brand-new department

As a member-led organisation, UITP is defined by those who call our association home.

With more than 1900 members in over 100 countries, UITP takes great pride in showcasing to the world the achievements, successes and developments of those working hard to advance public transport across the globe.

In order to best share and showcase that output, communications and marketing have joined forcesin a new team for a better coordination of efforts aiming at promoting the sector, the association and its services across the world

UITP is delighted to announce that this new department will be led by Catherine Lennon.

Having joined UITP in February 2021 as Head of Communications, Catherine has now taken charge of the newly-formed department, consisting of the Marketing Unit, Corporate Communications & Press Relations Unit, and the Content Communications Unit.

Meet Catherine…

In her new UITP role

Catherine’s lengthy and impressive career experience has seen her take on a wide variety of senior roles across various international companies.

With her great experience in setting up or transforming communications and leading, energising and managing teams across the communications and marketing sectors, Catherine is the ideal candidate to lead UITP’s creative output moving forward.

Whether it be campaigns, publications, projects, reports or events…internal, external and everything else in between, the UITP communications and marketing output has never been more important than before as the association works towards our first Global Summit in four years.

“The role of communications and marketing in promoting the work of our association is vital to making sure the positive message of public transport is spread far and wide. With that important task, it became clear that the need to connect the communications and marketing units under one department was essential. To best grow on existing successes, Catherine is the ideal candidate to take on this exciting challenge and I look forward to seeing the department excel under Catherine’s leadership.”
