Which part of your daily routine do you look forward to?
Probably my morning “café-croissant”. I enjoy this morning routine even more now because my afternoons and evenings have become busier with calls to France. And Australia has such a strong early-morning social culture, which I really enjoy.
What is pending on your bucket list?
Spending more time travelling through Australia. I’d love to take a campervan from Adelaide to Darwin. I’ve seen a lot since arriving, but there is still a very long list of places I want to discover.
A book that you would recommend everyone read?
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is simple, but there is something different to take from it at every stage of life.
What is a fond memory from your career so far?
The day RATP Dev was awarded its first contract in Australia remains a proud moment for me. Seeing our team come together around a challenge and succeed reminds me of the strength we have when working towards a common goal.
What keeps you motivated?
My genuine pride in belonging to RATP Group and my commitment to helping it grow. Growth also creates new career opportunities between France and Australia; it’s particularly rewarding when former colleagues from our Paris operations join us here Down Under. I also find progress motivating, seeing an idea become something real, watching people grow, and knowing that the work we do ultimately makes everyday life a little easier for the communities we serve, which keeps me engaged and committed.
Which aspect of your organisation’s work culture do you most value?
Probably “daring”. It is one of RATP Dev’s four cultural pillars, and embracing this value makes me feel proud and motivated to contribute to a culture that encourages exploration and innovation. There is a genuine willingness to explore new territories, bring our international experience to new places and build strong local teams. What starts with a sense of adventure can turn into incredibly interesting projects.
If not public transport, which sector would you have worked in?
I would probably have been interested in tourism or hospitality, particularly in mountainous areas – hiking and climbing in summer, skiing and snowboarding in winter. Or why not combine the mountains with public transport? I’ve always been fascinated by ropeways and cable cars.
