Climate, Environment & UITP

Air and noise pollution. Harmful emissions. And an increasing ecological footprint. Mobility defines our environment – and urbanisation is magnifying the impact.

Without action, transport could soon account for 40% of CO2 emissions. To reverse course, sustainable mobility is the solution.

Globally, cities and public transport organisations are decarbonising, leading a modal shift away from cars, and greenifying urban areas. That means more biodiversity, improved energy efficiency, and importantly, more liveable cities.

And it’s UITP that brings together the mobility sector to advance this vision. From urban planning to passenger ferry decarbonisation, UITP is where public transport professionals can make their impact.
