Trolleybus

About

A little background

A staple of the bus sector, trolleybuses have been running in about 300 cities across the globe for the past 130 years. In many worldwide cities, the trolleybus can operate in complementarity to other modes such as the tram, and in recent years change has brought the trolleybus in to the modern age.

New developments with battery modes and demonstrations have contributed to this success and in recent years, new technological advances – such as in-motion charging – have been introduced in a range of cities to help the trolleybus fleets to advance.

The trolleybus is currently receiving greater attention worldwide. We are very pleased about this attention, and we hope to see the implementation of new trolleybus systems. The trolleybus is often still regarded as old-fashioned, as it has been in operation for decades. But this proven and reliable technology now integrates new innovations and is actually a sustainable path “back to the future!”
