UITP is looking for your insights which will help shape the global narrative for public transport.

We have officially launched the UITP Global Economic Outlook 2026 survey, and we invite UITP members worldwide to take part and make their voice heard.

Each year, the Global Economic Outlook provides a unique snapshot of how the public transport sector anticipates the year ahead. Built directly on input from transport authorities, operators and cities, it captures expectations on ridership, revenues, costs, fare policies, budgets and future investments across regions and modes.

In a context of economic uncertainty, rising costs and growing demand for sustainable mobility, your perspective has never been more important.

Why participate?

By contributing to the Outlook 2026, you help us collectively:

  • Set the facts: build a trusted, data-driven picture of the sector’s economic health
  • Strengthen advocacy: support UITP’s engagement with policymakers using real-world evidence
  • Benchmark globally: compare trends across regions, governance models and transport modes
  • Shape the future: inform UITP research, priorities and member services

The results will feed into the UITP Global Economic Outlook 2026, a widely used reference shared with members, decision-makers and international partners.

Who should respond?

The survey is open to UITP member organisations, including:

  • Public transport authorities and regulators
  • Public and private operators
  • Cities and competent authorities

All responses are treated confidentially and analysed in aggregated form only.

We encourage all eligible members to contribute and ensure their realities are reflected in the global picture.
