An interactive 90-minute online event for members in the Asia and ANZ region

UITP Australia-New Zealand along with UITP Asia-Pacific and UITP India are jointly organising a webinar on ‘Embedding Diversity and Inclusion at the Heart of Public Transport‘ on 13 August 2025 at 13:30-15:00 Hong Kong time (UTC+8).

Public transport is more than just a way to move people; it is a vital public service that must equitably serve all member of society. As cities around the world become increasingly diverse, the need for inclusive, accessible, affordable, and safe transport systems has never been more critical.

This 90-minute webinar will explore how diversity and inclusion can shape the present and future of public transport. From infrastructure and vehicle design to planning, operations, and policy, we will examine how transport systems can better reflect and support the needs of all users regardless of age, gender, ability, or background.

Join our webinar to gain insights from global experts and be part of the discussion to build transport systems that leave no one behind.

Some of the topical aspects this webinar will cover are:

  1. Gender equity in transport access and safety
  2. Inclusive design and accessibility for people with disabilities
  3. Leveraging technology to enhance inclusion
  4. Cultural and linguistic inclusion in wayfinding, information, and engagement
  5. Planning and policy frameworks that enable equitable outcomes

      Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) in English and Chinese will be provided during this webinar.

      Registration to the webinar is free but registration is required in advance.

      The webinar is only for UITP members. However, limited seats may be provided to non-members on a discretionary basis, and we shall confirm the attendance to non-members a few days before the event.
