About: 

This year's UITP Metro Assembly will be held in Moscow, Russia (12-14 May 2020), at the invitation of Moscow Metro. This edition of the annual gathering of CEOs and directors from metros around the world will be held in conjunction with the Leaders in Urban Transportation Council, an international conference organised by the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow in partnership with UITP (14-15 May, cultural visits on 16 May).

09:00 – 09:30 - Opening Ceremony of the UITP Metro Assembly
 
09:30 – 10:30 - Session 1 – Moscow host session – ‘The future of railway transport’
The session is dedicated to the latest achievements and projects of the Moscow Metro and the development of rail transport in Moscow.
 
10:30 – 11:00 - Coffee break and press talk
 
11:00 – 12:30 - Session 2 – details to be announced
 
12:30 – 14:00 - Lunch
 
14:00 – 15:30 - Session 3 – details to be announced

Metro Assembly delegates are invited to participate in the Leaders in Urban Transportation Council, an international conference convened by the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow in partnership with UITP.

The languages foreseen for the Metro Assembly are English, German, French, Spanish and Russian.

The 2020 Metro Assembly is hosted by Moscow Metro.

Moscow Metro opened on 15 May 1935 and has grown to become the main mode of transport in the city, with 634 route kilometers, 269 stations and 15 lines (including a monorail, Moscow Central Circle). Many stations are well known for their architecture and are a tourist attraction in their own right. Taking into account solid passenger traffic growth and network expansion for the past 10 years Moscow Metro approaches passenger service development nowadays with a distinct approach using the latest technologies and world best practices.
