With more than 1600 members in almost 100 countries, UITP stands at the forefront of international public transport and urban mobility. With this worldwide reach, come the important opportunities to share expertise.

In order to best address the needs of our global membership, UITP is pleased to announce the opening of two new Regional Training Centres in Shenzhen and Istanbul.

Shenzhen Bus Group and Marmara Municipalities Union have partnered with UITP on these new Regional Training Centres for three years and will each organise at least four training programmes per year.

UITP organises training programmes in nearly 60 different countries and such initiatives will help to expand the global footprint and provide opprtunity to share esperience of local partners with participants coming from different countries.

Istanbul and Shenzhen are ideal locations due to their excellent respective Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems in Istanbul and an extensive growing metro network in both cities. Shenzhen is also a cradle of the electric bus and e-taxi sector.

The training programmes will be delivered in cooperation with UITP Regional Training Centres and will help people fulfil their career potential in the sector of public transport and sustainable mobility

“UITP strongly believes in the role of our members and the benefits of capacity building for the whole sector. Partnering with UITP in this way will provide a stellar opportunity to continue to shape the world of public transport and obtain the numerous benefits of hosting UITP trainings. I encourage others with a vested interest in developing their careers, to join the collaboration”, said Kaan Yildizgoz, UITP Senior Director of Membership, Marketing and Services.
