Get on board UITPANZ's Emerging Mobility Leaders Committee

UITP Australia New Zealand (UITPANZ) is seeking expressions of interest to join our Emerging Mobility Leaders Committee.

The Committee will plan and implement initiatives and activities to bring together young professionals working in the region’s public transport sector, advance their skills and support their role in the industry.

Committee members will:

  • Have a passion for public transport and knowledge-sharing
  • Show eagerness to learn and seek personal and professional development
  • Build and sustain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of events
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to propose new and innovative solutions
  • Experience in coordinating and managing projects, events, or activities.

Committee member requirements

Successful candidates will be required to:

  • Participate in initiatives
  • Meet with the Committee at least once a month
  • Be willing to collaborate on events and activities outside regular business hours
  • Support diversity and practices that enable all individuals to participate to their fullest ability
  • Show dedication and commitment to your responsibilities of the Committee
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and influence others to pursue joint goals of the Committee and UITPANZ
  • Set up connections across organisations to drive collaboration and engagement
  • Demonstrate autonomy and take ownership for delivery and quality of outcomes achieved
  • Show an interest in ensuring inclusivity in the team by sharing ideas and supporting other members.
Application process

To apply, applicants need to provide a:

  • 200-250 word written response as to why they want to join the Committee
  • Copy of their current CV
  • 90-second video response to the question:

What is a professional development gap for young public transport professionals and how could the Emerging Mobility Leaders Committee fill it?

Upload your video to Hightail and email the link, with your CV and written response to [email protected], with the subject line UITP Emerging Mobility Leaders Committee EOI.

Deadline extended! Applications must be received by Monday 28 June 2021.

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to attend a 15-minute interview with the selection panel will need to demonstrate their manager’s support in joining the Committee.

End June: shortlisted candidates contacted

July: first Committee meeting

September: young transport professionals event organised by the Committee.
