The “Go smart – go rail,” the UITP International Rail Conference will be taking place in Munich, Germany, with the aim of shaping the future of the urban rail sector.
Is the smart city concept driving change in the rail industry? Can local rail companies run smarter operations?
The conference will analyse the role of the rail sector for smart cities, as well as the influence of this concept for the rail industry. Is the smart city concept driving change in the rail industry? Can local rail companies run smarter operations?
From 28 to 30 October, more than 40 speakers will animate debates and present international case studies about metro, regional and suburban railways, safety, service excellence, multimodal synchronisation, railway maintenance, obsolescence management, energy optimisation – and many more topics.
For the keynote speech, Dr. Manfred Rudhart, CEO of Deutsche Bahn’s subsidiary DB-Regio AG, will share his vision of railways in times of change (competition, funding scarcity, digitalisation).
The last day (Friday 30 October) will be dedicated to technical visits like light rail, regional and suburban railway or metro systems, or the data analytics centre of Siemens mobility services.
