ITP is organising an online training on The New Mobility Ecosystem – MaaS and more across two weeks from 23rd September to 2nd October 2025.
Over the last ten years new shared mobility services have emerged, creating both challenges for cities and attractive options for residents and visitors – if they manage to find viable business models when the flow of venture capital has diminished. The more traditional transport modes are being transformed by digitalisation, connectivity, electrification, automatisation that might have an even bigger impact on the transport system.
In the middle of all this is the user and his or her needs and desires. We need to make it easier to access and use different mobility options and to live a multimodal life without having to own a car.
One way of doing this is by integrating many services into one: Mobility as a Service or MaaS. But there are many other models for combining mobility and cooperation between public and private actors and different roles to be played by cities, Public Transport Authorities and Operators in creating a sustainable mobility eco system. We will of course address the elephant in the room: Is MaaS dead or not? You will find out.
The objective of this training programme is to better understand the current mobility trends and the characteristics of new and transformed mobility services, the business behind them and their effects. We take a deeper look into the opportunities, challenges and benefits of different types of interaction and integration and the roles and governance of the new ecosystem.
This is done by lectures and case studies by experts in the field as well as workshops in which we sketch solutions for some of the cities represented using tools such as the Business Model Canvas and a wider lens.
A good level of English is a compulsory requirement to attend the training.
UITP Training Programmes and all related processes are certified for ISO 21001: 2018 – the standard for Educational organisations – Management systems for educational organisations.
Our skillful trainers are international experts and professionals with extensive experience and knowledge in the development and application of MaaS.
