About

Data sharing practices for smart mobility
Duration: 60 Minutes

As we look to the future, get a glimpse of the key digital trends, projects, and opportunities for the public transport sector.

Data is one of the crucial enablers of urban mobility. This digital era is increasingly being characterised by an exponential growth in consumer and industry data, triggered by rapid developments in digitalisation such as increased use of Internet-of-Things (IoT) and data-generating devices including smartphones and connected wearables. Public Transport authorities/operators generate large amounts of data as part of their daily operations from vehicle tracking, ticketing, sensors, vehicle fleets, and other infrastructure. On the other hand, there is more demand for integrated services and new players are emerging. Data sharing can unlock many new insights about our customers’ behaviors and habits. However, certain types of data might not be suitable for sharing due to privacy, competition law, or commercial restrictions and concerns.

This webinar series is organised in the build-up to IT-TRANS taking place from 10-12 May 2022 at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre, Germany. This edition will welcome many back to Karlsruhe, and also reach an even wider audience with a new hybrid format.
