About

The topic

UITP’s next webinar will be held on Tuesday 12 October from 11:00am to 12:00 Noon (EDT/UTC-4).

The webinar will be an opportunity to discuss the topic of contracting in public transit.

UITP has produced a study commissioned by the North American Transit Alliance (NATA), on contracting within the sector.

This “Contracting in Transit” study  takes a detailed look at the motivations and success factors of contracting for transit authorities which have chosen  to contract transit operations through a competitive process. The study is built upon interviews with transit authorities and operators (private contractors) experienced with this approach.

The study presents best practices in terms of the scope and award process, contractual framework, and partnership relations between the parties and the benefits of contracting.

Sylvain Haon, UITP Senior Director of Strategy, and Paul Comfort, NATA Executive Director, will discuss with US transit agencies and European authorities insights on the success factors and potential advantages of contracting operations through a competitive process.

The webinar will include some of the authorities and agencies interviewed in the framework of the study.
