UITP Asia-Pacific is jointly organising the 4th webinar together with UITP India on “Asset Management for Sustainable Public Transport” on 09 November at 12:30-14.00 Hong Kong time (UTC+8).

Asset Management is a key strategic management approach for public transport systems that allows to find a right balance between performance, cost and risk. It is not new to many public transport systems such as metro organisations as they have managing the assets for quite long time. However, the traditional approach in asset management is more of a corrective measure rather than a preventive measure with optimised use of digitalisation and technological tools.

Hence, some of you might be stuck to find answers for some of the critical questions associated with asset management in E-bus networks or rail networks such as what are my assets and its associated value? What are the current health conditions of the assets, the risks of an asset-related disaster? What are the maintenance mechanisms required (Corrective vs preventive)? What are tools and ways available to manage these assets?

The webinar will address some of these questions to allow public transport organisations to better prepare a strategic plan built on the principles of asset management with case examples from their counterparts in the region. This could help in improving the performance and service delivery, enhanced customer satisfaction, optimised return on investment, best value for money, and effective and efficient management.

The webinar is a perfect opportunity for staff from transport operators or authorities responsible for the operation and maintenance & asset management to gain knowledge crucial to long term strategy of the organisation.

This webinar will address the following topics:

  1. Digital Asset Management – Case Studies from Asia
  2. A Case Study of E-bus Maintenance
  3. Condition based monitoring in O&M  for Buses
  4. Challenges around data connectivity across life cycle
  5. Cost Optimisation Techniques to reduce the life cycle cost for more sustainable operations

Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) from English to Chinese will be provided during this webinar.
