Extending our Scholarship...

To our newest students

In 2021, when UITP launched a brand-new Scholarship to five outstanding individuals, we hoped that the programme would inspire the next generation of public transport professionals.

With five impressive applicants selected as the inaugural Scholars, they began their studies under the expert guidance of industry leaders.

Throughout the past twelves months, Mariana, Joemier, Danait, Iqbal and Utkarsh have advanced their public transport knowledge and are now due to graduate this summer – and UITP has spent some time meeting them along the way!

After extending the Scholarship programme for the 2022-2023 calendar year, we are pleased to announce the five impressive young professionals who will become our new Academy Scholars.

With numerous applicants from all corners of the globe, our jury selected those whose superb motivation and passion for public transport stood out from the crowd.

It’s time to meet our Scholars…

For 2022 and 2023

This year, our five Scholars come from Nepal, Uganda, the Philippines, Albania and Kenya.

…Will be those learning new skills and developing knowledge across the next twelve months. We’ll be learning more about all five in the coming weeks and months.

The success of the inaugural UITP Scholarship Programme made the decision to extend the programme to the next generation of leaders an obvious one. Our five new students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries, all with a shared common interest: to advance their careers under the guidance of our brilliant Academy trainers. Congratulations to each of them on being selected from an impressive list of applicants.

The scholars will select two elective courses together with the UITP Academy:
