UITP reacts to the European Parliament's first reading position on the 4th Railway Package

In January 2013, the European Commission adopted its 4th Railway Package, a comprehensive package of proposals which includes a Proposal for a Regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 concerning the opening to competition of the market for domestic passenger transport services by rail. In February 2014, the European Parliament adopted its first reading position on the Proposal. Further to the European Parliament’s position, UITP today reacted by publishing:

  • A position on the Proposal for a modification of Regulation 1370/07 (COM(2013)0028 - C7-0024/2013 - 2013/0028(COD)) Mathieu Grosch’s report [link].
  • A position on Common information and ticketing system - Proposal on the governance of the railway infrastructure (COM(2013)0029 - C7-0025/2013 - 2013/0029(COD)) Saïd El Khadraoui’s report [link].
