From trainings to publications…

...A quick look at UITP in 2021

Did you know UITP has 15 offices all over the world? Or that in 2021 we released 57 publications and studies, organised 61 training programmes and were featured in 3,500 articles in media from almost 100 countries.

2021 was another year like no other. Our work on combating COVID-19 proved to be popular with our members, with the COVID-19 flash update on ridership evolution being the most downloaded document from MyLibrary. But as the year continued, publications like the Better Urban Mobility Playbook and our knowledge brief on using business models for better integrated mobility were well received.

And then there was our new President: Khalid ALHOGAIL. During the 2021 General Assembly on Friday 18 June Khalid ALHOGAIL, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO), was voted in as UITP’s new President for the 2021-2023 term. In his inauguration speech, he noted that “public transport needs strong support as we look towards a post-pandemic world, and I hope to work alongside many of you in the times ahead”.

We may have been doing this for over 135 years, but every year we are proud to take a quick look back at our achievements from the year before. As a passionate champion of sustainable urban mobility, and the only worldwide network to bring together all public transport sustainable urban mobility stakeholders, UITP supports the entire sector to ultimately guarantee that public transport and its workers continue to bring cities to life.
