We’ve all taken a taxi. We’ve all called a cab. And we’re sure most of us have hit up a ride on an app. But where does the traditional taxi sit alongside the new mobility players?

When we brought you news on the Taxi and Ride-Hailing Conference and Exhibition at the beginning of this year, we spoke about finding synergy in this constantly developing sector.

But where does the traditional taxi sit alongside the new mobility players?

…And what is the status of the 2020 edition of our taxi and ride-hailing event?

The taxi industry has gone through a major transformation in the past decade, and we can’t look to the future without discussing, debating and developing on the progress that brought us to this point.

Taxis and the new mobility players have adapted to reflect the times – and now the 2020 edition of the Taxi and Ride-Hailing Digital Conference (2-3 December 2020) will do the same.

Jointly hosted by UITP and messe karlsruhe, you can experience two days of sessions, networking and exchange under the 2020 theme “Smart Personal Rides”.

As the only event of its kind dedicated to both taxi and the new mobility players, we will host a digital edition to adapt to the current times

The entrance of the new mobility players into the taxi sector has changed the ways of business and operations and the future will bring sustainable and innovative transportation where both can play a key role in the mobility ecosystem.

In December 2017 when the new mobility players joined the international UITP family, they began to find their home alongside the traditional taxis within our global house.

And now both are represented in our taxi and ride-hailing event, where leading figures from the likes of the Dubai Taxi Agency, the European Commission, FreeNow, BlueBird, Bestmile and more will take to the (virtual) stage.

With the use of technology increases, new partnerships are on the horizon: so what can you expect across our two day digital event?

Beginning on Wednesday 2 December, we will host four panel sessions discussing transformation, regulation, operations and innovation.

Our panel sessions: “The Future of Taxi Transportation during COVID”, “Regulation of taxis and private-hire vehicles”, “Achieving operational excellence: global best practices”, and “Adoption of cleaner and innovative vehicle design”, will feature presentations and debate from leading sector figures, joining us from all over the world.

On Thursday 3 December, we will discuss “New mobility innovation: digital disruption in personal mobility” and “taxis and sharing economy: accepting the new reality” as well as hosting networking breaks for our audience to connect online.
